What is water baptism, and
why should I be baptized?

You may wonder why believers are baptized, and what the Scriptures have to say about baptism. Below we will cover a few things that may be helpful.

  • Immersion Into Water

    Water baptism is immersion into water, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection of the believer with and in Christ. We are identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection, and witnessing that we have been immersed into Christ through His Spirit.

  • An Outward Sign

    Water baptism is an outward sign of an inward work. In water baptism we declare to our family, friends, and those in attendance, that we believe in Jesus Christ, and have been made into a new creation. Water baptism is an expression of our faith in Christ, and what God has done for us through Christ’s resurrection from the dead.

  • Jesus Commands It

    In Matthew 28:18-19 Jesus commands water baptism, and in Mark 16:16 we see that those who believe are to be baptized. We see this re-affirmed throughout the book of Acts. We receive water baptism in obedience to Jesus Christ.

  • Sign Up!

    You are able to sign up for baptism, using our form below, or in either of our foyers at the church. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask one of our staff members or ushers.

  • Attend The Class

    Baptism class is held the Saturday before baptisms take place. The class usually meets in the church cafe. This is a pre-requisite to being baptized at The Fellowship.

  • Get Baptized!

    It’s now time to get baptized. On the second Sunday of most months we offer baptisms during the second service. Baptism is a big deal! Feel free to invite friends and family to attend!
