“Preparing God’s House”
1 Chronicles 29:1-20
We are under the command of the
Lord to be used in His end-time
harvest of souls. His Kingdom
will rule over all. I would
like to share with you some
pertinent scripture verses that
should help you in understanding
the will of the Lord and what He
has given us as enabling tools
to perform His work.
In 1 Chronicles
29:1, the word of the Lord says,
“Furthermore King David said to
all the assembly, My son
Solomon, whom alone God has
chosen is young and
inexperienced; and the work
is great, because the temple is
not for man but for the Lord
God.” Paul the apostle in 1
Corinthians 6:19,20, tells us,
“or do you not know that your
body is the temple of the Holy
Spirit who is in you, whom you
have from God, and you are not
your own? (20) For you were
bought at a price; therefore
glorify God in your body and in
your spirit, which are God’s.”
Paul confirms the
same truth that David stated;
the temple is for God, not man.
Therefore, we should maintain
the attitude that the Lord
Himself is the owner of the
house. When we see this truth
clearly, we will conduct our
lives with reverence and holy
fear. Let us never forget that
the Lord is the owner and
resident of His house (temple)
which we are!
In light of the fact
that we are individually and
corporately the body of Christ
(His Temple), let us consider
the following verses. “Now
for the house of my God, I have
prepared with all my might:
. . .” “Moreover, because I
have set my affection on the
house of my God, I have given to
the house of my God, . . .”
Paul labored over and over for
the house of the Lord also. He
had great love and concern for
the church of God. In Acts
20:17-27, Paul exhorts the
Ephesian elders saying, “you
know, from the first day that I
came to Asia, in what manner I
always lived among you, (19)
serving the Lord with all
humility, with many tears and
trials . . . (20) how I kept
back nothing that was helpful,
but proclaimed it to you and
taught you publicly. . . (23)
the Holy Spirit testifies in
every city, saying that chains
and tribulations await me. (24)
But none of these things move
me; nor do I count my life dear
to myself . . (26)
Therefore, I testify to you this
day that I am innocent of the
blood of all men. (27)
For I have not shunned to
declare to you the whole counsel
of God.”
. . . to be continued.
In Christ,
Pastor Don
