The faith that we
have has been given to us by
God that we might please him
and overcome whatever
problem the world’s system
may present. The
scripture says, “For
whatever is born of God
overcomes the world. And
this is the victory that has
overcome the world-our
faith” (1 John 5:4).
The Lord has given us His
faith as victory. This
gift of faith is His life
working in and through us.
We now have the
faith of Jesus Christ
through His resurrection
from the dead. Jesus
says, “…in the world you
will have tribulation; but
be of good cheer, I have
overcome the world” (John
16:33). The faith that
is in the believer has
already overcome the world!
This overcoming faith is
given to all who are born of
God. Therefore, we
enjoy victory over the world
as Christ Himself does.
His victorious faith is our
gift.
Peter tells us
that the goal of our faith
is the salvation of our
souls. We will be
saved to the fullest as a
result of the gift of faith
given to us by Jesus Christ
our Lord. What a day
the final resurrection will
be for us!!
We encounter many
problems in our walk with
the Lord that are complex
and humanly impossible to
overcome. Using human
means, only complicates our
already difficult lives.
However, when we employ the
faith that belongs to Jesus,
we overcome whatever the
world brings against us.
When Christ faced
death in the garden, He did
not waver but said, “…shall
I not drink the cup which my
father has given me?”
What an attitude! We can
have the same one with the
same results!
I realize many of
you are undergoing fiery
trials, but remember that
you are kept by the power of
God thru faith. Also,
the genuineness of your
faith is more precious than
gold that perishes, though
it is tested by fire.
God’s desire is that this
faith may be found to
praise, honor, and glory at
the revelation of Jesus
Christ. “Beloved, do
not think it strange
concerning the fiery trial
which is to try you, as
though some strange thing
happened to you; but rejoice
to the extent that you
partake of Christ’s
sufferings, that when His
glory is revealed, you may
also be glad with exceeding
joy” (1 Peter 4:12,13).
I constantly think
and pray for all of you.
Enjoy this holiday season!
In Christ,
Pastor Don
