We Will Remember The Name of The
LORD
Psalm 20:1-8
Life is so
interesting with all of its
complexities. Trouble comes to
us all. It doesn’t matter
whether we are rich or poor,
powerful or powerless. We all
must learn to deal with life’s
difficulties.
Psalm twenty is one
of my favorite portions of
scripture because I always find
myself in need of the Lord’s
help. The Psalmist David, prays
that the Lord would answer us in
the day of trouble. He
recognizes that being a
“Christian” or in his case a
servant of Jehovah does not
preclude us from the problems of
life. He continues his prayer
by asking; “May the name of the
God of Jacob defend you; May He
send you help... And strengthen
you... May He grant you
according to your heart’s
desire, And fulfill all your
purpose.” David also, within
this passage asks God to
remember all our offerings and
sacrifices.
When you are in trouble or
difficulty, are moments of past
faithfulness those that you
reflect upon? Do you take time
to ponder and recall what the
Lord has done for you and what
your response has been to Him?
Jesus is amazingly faithful! He
cannot deny this integral part
of Himself. His name will
always protect you.
David concludes this Psalm with
these words. “Some trust in
chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of
the Lord our God. They have
bowed down and fallen; But we
have risen and stand upright.”
When you remember the name of
the Lord, reconstruct all of His
faithful acts and powerful love
that have been gloriously
extended to you.
In Christ,
